Nestled in rolling hills between the mighty Pacific Ocean, and San Diego and Riverside Counties, Fallbrook

or Temecuala Wine Country and only an hour and a half from the ski slopes of Big Bear Lake,

Vital Reche was the first to permanently settle the area in 1869, he built his homestead in the area

that is now known as Live Oak Park. In 1885 the current downtown site was planned and settled.

You can still see the original school house off of Live Oak Park road and it still serves as the Reche

Clubhouse. The area is still an unincorporated community in San Diego County and maintains it's

agricultural roots. There are more than 100 wineries, commercial farms, and nurseries today.
